SummerSlam 2008

1) MVP def. Jeff Hardy ⭐️⭐️(10:10) - Good match to start off the show and probably the only choice to start the show. A little Shelton Benjamin interference 12 or 13 years before the Hurt Business helps MVP get the win.

2) Mixed Tag Match for the IC & Women's Championships:
Santino Marella & Beth Phoenix def. Kofi Kingston (c) & Mickie James (c) ⭐️ (5:25) - Always interesting to see early pre New Day Kofi. Not a good match but I liked the Mixed Tag being for both titles. Hopefully WWE trys it again. Would work so much better in 2026 than it did in 2008.

Video highlights HBKs Storyline with Chris Jericho. Next Shawn comes out with his wife to make a big announcement. But he is interrupted by Jericho and all hell breaks lose. Y2J was definitely one of HBKs 4 biggest rivals.

3) ECW Championship Match:
Matt Hardy def. Mark Henry (c) w/ Tony Atlas (:33) - This match had no chance after that HBK/Y2J in ring segment. DQ finish weak.

4) World Heavyweight Championship Match:
CM Punk (c) def. JBL ⭐️1/2 (10:29) - promos were better than the actual match.

5) WWE Championship Match:
HHH (c) def. The Great Khali w/Ranjin Singh ⭐️ (10:01) - this was just a bad idea. 

Video package highlights of the Cena/Batista fued. That was a damn good hype you up video. 👍👍

6) Batista def. John Cena ⭐️⭐️⭐️(13:41) - Not there best match but damn it was entertaining. The finish was pure cinema.

7) Hell in a Cell Match:
The Undertaker def. Edge ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (26:44) - 😨 I had totally forgot about that spear thru the cell wall spot. Plus all the stuff they did outside of the Cell. Finish Coke slam off the top rope thru two stacked tables, hit with a video camera, conchairto followed by a tombstone. Plus the post match coke slam off a ladder to hell. 

MFTC: 4.5/10 This is really a two match card. One of the wrost SummerSlam ple in history. 

Blast from the Past:
The number 1 movie for the majority of August 2008 was The Dark Knight. It was the 1st superhero flim to gross over 1 billion, the 4th highest grossing movie of all time at that time.

1)Intercontinental Championship Match: Tatanka w/Sherri def. Shawn Michaels (c) w/Luna Vachon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (18:13) - one of the best opening matches in Wrestlemania history. Lame finish with the countout. This was Tatanka's 2nd of two Wrestlemania matches. The other was Rick Martel at WM8. This was Shawn's 5 WM and only his second singles match at Mania.  Mean Gene interviews the Stiener Bros.  2) Stiener Bros (Rick & Scott) def. The Headshrinkers (Samu & Fatu)w/Afa ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (14:22) - this was a very hard hitting match. Hard to believe this was the only Stiener Bros Wrestlemania match. Scott did have a battle royal appearance in Wrestlemania 31 that I had completely forgotten about 😆.  Mean Gene interviews Doink the Clown 🤡  3) Doink the Clown def. Crush ⭐️⭐️ (8:28) - forgettable match up until the debut of Doink #2. Wish they had given the time Razor and Backlund got to this match. Footage is shown of both Trick and Ethan Page both entering the arena.  1) Last chance match for NXT North American Championship: Oba Femi (c) def. Wes Lee ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 (16:19) - Definition of a can you top this match. Great choice to start the show with.  Footage of Roxanne Perez and Lola Vice walking in the area is shown. The we get a video package highlighting how we got to the Women's North American Championship Match.  2) NXT Women's North American Championship Match: Kelani Jordan (c) def. Sol Ruca ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (11:37) -  The athleticism in his match was next level. NXT Stand & Deliver 2023

1)Ladder Match for the NXT Women's Championship: Indi Hartwell def. Roxanne Perz (c),Zoey Stark,Gigi Dolin,Lyra Valkyria, and Tiffany Stratton ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (17:02) - perfect way to kick of Wrestlemania Goes Hollwood 2 weekend.  The finish was awesome with Gigi's ex tag partner screwing her out of the championship, giving Stratton a pave to the title only for Hartwell to send her flying off the top of the 🪜 over the top rope and on to the rest of the women. Leaving Indi the last women standing and with an assist from Dexter Lumus she became the NXT Women's Champion.  Carmelo Hayes,Tick Williams, and Bron Breakker are shown arriving at the arena. 2)Triple Threat Match for the NXT Tag Team Championships: Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) (c) def. The Family (Tony D'Angelo & Stacks) and the Creed Brothers (Jullius & Brutus) w/Ivy Nile ⭐️⭐️1/2 (8:11) - Good match but easy to pick as the lowest rated match on the card.
