The Brain Busters (Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard) w/Bobby Heenan def. The Hart Foundation (Bret Hart & Jim Neidhart) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2 (16:23) - Now this was a prefect match to kickoff the ppv. Really  a shame we didn't get more of the team of Tully & Arn in WWE. Really smart and creative finish with Arn taking advantage of the ref being distracted and switching with his partner (covering his head on the pin attempt so the ref wouldn't realize he wasn't the legal man) after delivering a blow to the back of Brets head to steal the victory. 

Mean Gene interviews Dusty Rhodes backstage before his match with the Honky Tonk Man. 

2) Dusty Rhodes def. The Honky Tonk Man w/ Jimmy Hart ⭐️⭐️1/2 (9:36) - Good match but I probably wouldn't of placed it after the tag match. Maybe I would of either had them switch places. 🤔🤷‍♂️

Mean Gene interviews Demolition and Jim Duggan backstage before their 6 man tag match. 

3) Mr Perfect def. The Red Rooster🐓 ⭐️ (3:21) - nicely placed let/get you down match.

Rick Rude and Bobby Heenan are interviewed backstage by Mean Gene. 

4) Ric Martel and the Fabulous Rougeaus w/ Slick and Jimmy Hart def. Tito Santana and The Rockers ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (14:58) - Very solid six man tag. One of the best matches on the show.

Video package highlighting Warrior vs Rick Rude fued. Plus a backstage interview with the Ultimate Warrior with Mean Gene. 

5) WWF IC Championship Match:
Ultimate Warrior def. Rick Rude (c) w/ Bobby Heenan ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (16:02) - Rare match were the Warrior actually comes off the top rope. Those two had great chemistry together in ring. 

Sean Mooney reports from in the crowd. 

Mean Gene backstage interviews Mr. Perfect, Roddy Rowdy Pipper, Ronnie Garvin, Bobby Heenan & Rick Rude. 

Up next 5 min cable intermission.

6) Jim Duggan and Demolition def. Andre the Giant and the Twin Towers w/ Bobby Heenan and Slick ⭐️⭐️(7:23) - Match had no chance to be anywhere near as good as the other other 6 man tag on this card. Even will all the star power. Possibly would of been a better Idea if it was placed on Saturday Nights Main Event. 

Mean Gene interviews the Million Dollar Man w/ Virgil. 

The Fink introduces the guest ring announcer for the following match Ronnie Garvin.

7) Greg Valentine w/ Jimmy Hart def. Hercules  (3:08) -  Waste of ppv time. 

Mean Gene interviews Macho Man and Zeus w/ Sherri 

8) Ted DiBiase w/ Virgil def. Superfly Jimmy Snuka ⭐️ (6:27) - Probably better served as a SNM match. 

Sean Mooney once again in the crowd with the fans. 

Mean Gene interviews Hulk Hogan and Beefcake.

The Genuis recites a poem.

9) Hulk Hogan & Brutus Beefcake w/Miss Elizabeth def. Randy Savage & Zeus w/ Sherri ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (15:04) - Sadly as of now everyone involved in the match have passed except for Heber and Beefcake 😔 I really hope one day WWE can rerelese the No Holds Barred Steel Cage rematch on WWE vault YouTube channel. 

MFTC:
One of the better SummerSlam events a 5.3 out of 10. Much better than 1990 but that review is for another day.

Blast from the past: August 7

●On this date in 2001 DDP and Kanyon win the WWF Tag titles from the APA. (The only title he won in WWE other than the European Championship.) 

●One this date in 2003 a rare televised John Cena vs Undertaker match happens on Smackdown. (Could only find 6 of them) Cena and Undertaker were on separate brands for most of Cena's career is a big factor in the lack of one on one matches. 

●On this date in 1988 Marti Belle was born. (Forgot she was in the the 2017 Mae Young Classic) Hopefully one day she gets a shot for a longer stint in WWE. 🙏🏿

1)Intercontinental Championship Match: Tatanka w/Sherri def. Shawn Michaels (c) w/Luna Vachon ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (18:13) - one of the best opening matches in Wrestlemania history. Lame finish with the countout. This was Tatanka's 2nd of two Wrestlemania matches. The other was Rick Martel at WM8. This was Shawn's 5 WM and only his second singles match at Mania.  Mean Gene interviews the Stiener Bros.  2) Stiener Bros (Rick & Scott) def. The Headshrinkers (Samu & Fatu)w/Afa ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (14:22) - this was a very hard hitting match. Hard to believe this was the only Stiener Bros Wrestlemania match. Scott did have a battle royal appearance in Wrestlemania 31 that I had completely forgotten about 😆.  Mean Gene interviews Doink the Clown 🤡  3) Doink the Clown def. Crush ⭐️⭐️ (8:28) - forgettable match up until the debut of Doink #2. Wish they had given the time Razor and Backlund got to this match. Wes Lee ⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 (16:19) - Definition of a can you top this match. Great choice to start the show with.  Footage of Roxanne Perez and Lola Vice walking in the area is shown. The we get a video package highlighting how we got to the Women's North American Championship Match.  2) NXT Women's North American Championship Match: Kelani Jordan (c) def. Sol Ruca ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (11:37) -  The athleticism in his match was next level. NXT Stand & Deliver 2023

1)Ladder Match for the NXT Women's Championship: Indi Hartwell def. Roxanne Perz (c),Zoey Stark,Gigi Dolin,Lyra Valkyria, and Tiffany Stratton ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (17:02) - perfect way to kick of Wrestlemania Goes Hollwood 2 weekend.  The finish was awesome with Gigi's ex tag partner screwing her out of the championship, giving Stratton a pave to the title only for Hartwell to send her flying off the top of the 🪜 over the top rope and on to the rest of the women. Leaving Indi the last women standing and with an assist from Dexter Lumus she became the NXT Women's Champion.  Carmelo Hayes,Tick Williams, and Bron Breakker are shown arriving at the arena. 2)Triple Threat Match for the NXT Tag Team Championships: Gallus (Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) (c) def. The Family (Tony D'Angelo & Stacks) and the Creed Brothers (Jullius & Brutus) w/Ivy Nile ⭐️⭐️1/2 (8:11) - Good match but easy to pick as the lowest rated match on the card.
